The Brand Positioning Mistakes We See in Every New Client — And How We Fix Them

Whenever a new company visits us at the best branding  agency in Kochi, we are usually impressed with their branding and we find that there are usually some common issues with their brand positioning that are preventing success. It's as though we've seen it all before! In fact, many of these new clients think the idea of brand is only associated with the creation of a logo or tagline, but the reality is that the true definition of a brand is who you are and what you are known for in no uncertain terms. When companies determine that their brand is working against them, we assist them in understanding who they actually are and are able to reposition their brand for success.

Branding Mistake 1: The Confusion of Branding with Marketing

This is the most common mistake made by new businesses. Many believe that branding is a marketing vehicle, i.e, a short, fun, and creative way to promote a product or service. However, branding is the core of a business’s identity; marketing is how you convey that identity to your audience. We explain to clients that the success of any successful marketing campaign begins with the establishment of a strong brand. The most persuasive marketing campaigns can fail if there is no TRUE brand narrative or substantively real brand identity. This is why we incorporate digital marketing insights from the best digital marketing agency in Kochi to ensure brand communications and marketing are seamlessly joined.

Marketing departments can work together to create successful campaigns that will reach out to their desired audience, rather than competing against one another.

Mistake 2: Not understanding how your consumer perceives you

Another common pitfall is creating a brand based on what you want to be, rather than creating a brand based on who your target market is. Your messaging will not connect with your target audience if you do not understand how they view you and your company. At marketing agency we use numbers to identify how customers behave, what they are interested in, how they communicate with each other, and how they communicate with brands, among other data sources. This allows us to create a message to the consumer that resonates and connects with them. If you do this correctly consumers see your brand as legitimate, as opposed to just noise.

Mistake 3: Overcomplicating your messaging

Cluttered communication is another major obstacle brands encounter when they attempt to develop their marketing messages. Often times brands will attempt to convey too much information about themselves, which takes away from the core message of the brand. As a branding agency in Kochi, we simplify and clarify brand narratives for our clients. We distill complex ideas into simple, concise brand positioning statements. As the best digital marketing company in Kochi, we then assist in amplifying these messages through the use of digital platforms, in order to gain maximum exposure.

Mistake 4: Failing to Differentiate Yourself

Too many companies look the same as one another as they don't promote how they can offer something new, different or better than anybody else. For example, it’s common to find companies that have similar logos, slogans, etc. At the Best Branding Agency in Kochi  with the help of an analyst, we find out what your competition is doing and also discover non-competitive markets that you can play in. Then, using AI for digital marketing we can find new ways to highlight these differences so that your brand stands out from its competitors.

Mistake 5: Not Having an Integrated Brand Experience Across All Platforms

It is essential that you maintain consistency across all digital marketing platforms, otherwise consumers are less likely to trust your brand. For instance, if you have a beautiful polished Instagram account but a very outdated-looking website, this is harmful for your brand image. The Best digital marketing company in Kochi works in conjunction with us to ensure that every brand touchpoint (social media, search advertising, etc.) has the same branding so you can build up trust, allow consumers to see you repeatedly, and ultimately have them use your company’s services consistently.

Mistake 6: Not Connecting Emotionally With Consumers

Companies that only highlight the physical attributes of their products or services or the features and benefits are missing the “emotional” component that drives customers to purchase. We at the Best Branding Agency in Kochi believe that using the power of storytelling, (creating stories around your product or service) is one way to create an "emotional connectivity" with today's consumers. Also through the use of AI for digital marketing, we can provide you with the knowledge of what triggers an emotional response to a potential buyer of your product/service and help you turn this buyer into customer.

Mistake 7: Not Adapting or Changing Positioning

Markets and industries have changed over time and companies must too, and therefore there are many companies and service providers that are still utilizing the same methods as they were when they were started and no longer consider their customers or competitors to determine if they are still following industry trends.

How We Fix These Misconceptions

The process at the Best Branding Agency in Kochi is systematic and creative all at once. First, we conduct a thorough evaluation of an existing brand position. This also includes benchmarking their competitors as well as understanding consumer behaviors and digital trends. Then we leverage AI for digital marketing to create actionable insights based on how best to reach and retain the target consumer. Finally, we collaborate with the Best Digital Marketing Company in Kochi to implement campaigns based on the newly defined branding strategy.

The outcome of this process is a brand that is clear, consistent, differentiated and emotionally meaningful. By providing brand owners and brand managers with this level of understanding of their markets will enable them to succeed today as brands within the same marketplace.
